Ken Roberts
Ken Roberts is a name that is searched fairly often on just about every search engine. Ken Roberts futures trading educational material is probably what people are searching for.
I remember receiving my first dose of his marketing material many years ago. I replied to an ad in a trading magazine that illustrated how get started trading commodities.
It was an interesting approach showing how small amounts of money could be leveraged into bigger, yet believable amounts.
Despite its controversy, I credit the Ken Roberts company for introducing me to the world of trading. For better of for worse, it's a world I would never have found on my own.
That being said, is his course worth the money?
That all depends on who you ask.
Ask a seasoned professional, and they'll balk at the thought of paying some cowboy hat wearing schmuck a cent for any advice, let alone information on how to trade commodities. Some people would even go as far as calling Ken Roberts fraud.
But for an absolute newbie, the course was a great introduction to futures trading. It was written for a beginner, with enough motivation to keep me interested.
While I don't blame the program for my early losses, I do feel it was not telling the whole story.
It taught an oversimplified technical approach to trading, that I thought was going to make me rich. But really it gave me just enough information to make me dangerous to myself.
If I were to do it again, I'd hope I'd stumble across a book that balanced the dream with reality, technical analysis with money management, and fact with fiction.
